Philip R. Haberstroh, 93, a lifelong resident of Columbia, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 31, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Anne Flottemesch Haberstroh, with whom he would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this June 30th. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late William A. and Sophia Smith Haberstroh.

A 1950 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Phil was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, where he served honorably as a corpsman. He retired in 1994 after 42 years of dedicated service with the ITT Grinnell Corporation, where he worked as a supervisor. Phil also served his community for a few years as the parking meter repairman for Columbia Borough, where he used his sharp organizational talents to track and manage meter usage.

A devout and lifetime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia, Phil had a wide array of passions. He was an avid fisherman, a talented artist, and took great joy in making his own homemade wine. Above all, he loved spending time with his family by the pool.

In addition to his wife, Anne, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa Carroll (Greg Dancause); seven grandchildren: Benjamin Zeamer (Mandy Hefflefinger), Rebecca Carroll Baltozer (Justin Baltozer), Andrew Zeamer (Amanda Smith), Philip Carroll (Jenna Blain), David Zeamer (Caroll Charles), Thomas Carroll (Rachel Knighton), and Joanne Dancause; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane M. Zeamer, and his siblings: Ruth Albright, Dr. William C. Haberstroh, Alma Mease, Elizabeth Overmeyer, and Edward Haberstroh.
