Geraldine Virginia Lamparter, 99, of Mountville passed away on May 2, 2026. She was born in Laurel, MD to the late Roy and Maude Lawson Poe and lived most of her life in York and Lancaster Counties.
Geraldine was co-owner of the former Lamplight Inn of Columbia, but more importantly she was a homemaker who was a loving mother to five boys. She enjoyed crafts including sewing and crocheting and also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and reading. Geraldine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and aunt who adored her family and treasured spending time with them.
Geraldine leaves behind four sons Frank, husband of Diane Lamparter of Dover, Art, husband of Fay Lamparter of Mount Joy, Larry Lamparter of Columbia, Jeff Lamparter of Mountville; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; a sister-in-law Delores Lamparter of Dover; a daughter-in-law Angela Lamparter of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Lamparter, Sr. in 2013; her son Kevin Lamparter; five brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Ave, York, PA 17403. The Rev. Mark Kopp will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
