With deep sadness we announce the passing of Thomas Matthew Freeman at the age of 52. While born in Riverview Michigan, he resided most of his life in Lancaster County PA predominantly in Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his father Tom B. Freeman Jr. and his mother JoAnn Bruggeman Freeman Boyer as well as a sister Kimberly A. Gabelli.

He leaves behind a sister Melissa Seibert (Jeff) and a niece Meg Seibert (Reese) and a nephew Mike Seibert (Hannah) and a great nephew Jackson Seibert all of whom loved him deeply. He also leaves behind a great group of close and loyal friends as well many acquaintances of all ages who were very fond of him.

Tom had the ability to strike up a conversation and talk to anyone. He knew a lot about a diverse range of subjects especially cars. Over the years, Tom worked as a salesman at American Appliance, Faulkner Chevrolet, and for most of his career at Joe and Paul Crouse Auto Sales.

Tom was a member of The Columbia Fraternal Association (Owls), The Hambones, The American Legion, and The Foresters of America. He enjoyed visiting local eateries especially Griddles, Union Station, and Mack’s for an ice cream cone. He loved seafood, Vespas, watches, kayaking, mini golf, going to the range, browsing antique shops, and spending time with friends and family. His memory was sharp as a tack and he excelled at trivia.

Tom was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone at any time. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the many others whose lives he touched.

In memory of Tom and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Saturday September 12, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Foresters of America, 201 Locust ST, Columbia PA. Feel free to drop in during those hours and come as you are.
