Mark A. Ingoglia

To know Mark was to laugh with him, and his crinkly eyed smiles and unhindered humor were always a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced by his family.

Mark A. Ingoglia, 76, of Columbia passed away on August 9, 2026. He was born in Passaic, NJ to the late Peter and Georgianne Koshlap Ingoglia and lived most of his life in this area.

Mark was a graduate of Saddle Brook High School with the Class of 1967 and went on to earn degrees from Franklin & Marshall College (Classical Languages) and Millersville University (Computer Science). He worked for many years as a systems consultant, trainer, and instructor until his retirement in 2012. Mark enjoyed fixing things (perhaps more so taking them apart), completing jigsaw puzzles, and oldies music. He loved visiting the beach with his family (preferably with a Nick’s cheesesteak) and body surfing (in his younger years, of course). Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who adored his family and treasured spending time with them.

To know Mark was to laugh with him, and his crinkly eyed smiles and unhindered humor were always a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was generous with his time, wisecracks, and expertise. His penchant for numbers made him a longtime fit for treasurer, from his fraternity Phi Sigma Kappa to HYA intramural sports to Columbia UMC. If you needed him, he was there (with no shortage of Yes Dears).

Mark leaves behind his wife of fifty-two years Kathie Ingoglia of Columbia; his daughter Alixe, wife of Joe Hemerly of Columbia; his grandson Brewer Hemerly of Columbia; a grand-dog Penny; five siblings Peter Ingoglia of Denver, CO, Susie DiPierro of Hayward, CA, Andrea Mears of Vero Beach, FL, Janel Houchens, wife of Kerry of Gainesville, FL, Tracey Powers of Vero beach, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Terry, husband of Mary Ellen Foust of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews all over the United States.

Bebe, Daddy, Mark, Papa, Grandpa, Paisan, Wizard - we will soitenly miss you terribly, every day!

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced by his family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a cause dear to you or The Stoogeum, P. O.
