Franklin James Reisinger, Jr., of Columbia, PA passed away on August 7, 2026, in his 80th year of natural causes. Born in Columbia, he was a 1964 graduate of Columbia High School, where he was co-captain of the cross-country team and enjoyed his time being part of the track team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Jean Mathiot Reisinger and Franklin James Reisinger, Sr., his beloved wife, Teddy and his sisters, Jolynn Rosado and Kathleen Moss. He is survived by three sons Franklin (Skip) James Resinger, III, Derick James Reisinger and Richard Moore; four grandchildren Austin, Ashlin, Angeli and Michael; and one great grandchild, Allison. Jim also leaves behind his siblings, John V. Reisinger, William B. Reisinger, LuAnn Contrestan, Jeanine K. Widener, Karl E. Reisinger, Patrick Reisinger husband of JoAnn Reisinger.
Jim was a member of UA Local 520 Union Welders, Fitters Plumbers & Service techs where he spent his working career and was affectionately known as “Fuzzy”. Jim was also a member of the Columbia Fish and Game where he excelled at the marksmanship competitions, earning him a room full of trophies. He had a deep love for the outdoors and was especially passionate about deer hunting. Despite being wheelchair bound, he never let his disability keep him from pursuing that passion, often hunting from his wheelchair assessable van or private property. In his younger years he also enjoyed riding his motorcycles.
Jim’s life was not an easy one, but it did not deter him from always having a sunny disposition. First born in a family with 9 siblings, he will be sorely missed and will always be our big brother.
A celebration of his life will be held jointly with his sister, Kathy. The Celebration of Life will be on September 5, 2026, at 2pm at the home of Kathy’s son, Eric Moss, 40 Blue Sky Drive, Wrightsville, PA 17368.
