James "Jim" Sumpman

James “Jim” Sumpman, of Columbia, passed away on February 16, 2026, after a brief illness. Born in 1949 in Columbia, Jim was a lifelong member of the community he loved.
He graduated from Columbia Boro High School with the Class of 1967. In his younger years, he served as President of the Keystone Fire Company, where he formed lasting friendships.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret Sumpman, and his brother, David Sumpman. He is survived by his sister, Mary Sumpman of Columbia; his niece, Amy Sumpman of Lititz; and his great‑nephew, Andrew Sumpman Braas of Lititz.
Jim cherished time spent with his many friends and held a special place in his heart for the Seigrist family, with whom he shared countless treasured moments. He will be remembered for his loyal friendships, and unique sense of humor.
