Herbert E. Hornick “Herb”, 92, of Lancaster passed away on September 29, 2026. He was born in Johnstown to the late Isadore and Mary Newland Hornick and lived most of his life in this area.
Following high school, Herb proudly served in the United States Army. After his service, he worked as an electrician for many years until his retirement. Herb enjoyed his motorcycles, woodworking and building things, and collecting antiques. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family and treasured spending time with them.
Herb leaves behind three sons Terry Hornick of Columbia, Rich, husband of Heather Hornick of Columbia, Dan, husband of Kim Hornick of Marietta; four granddaughters Lakyn, Peighton, Isabella, and Emma; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Hornick in May of 2026 and six siblings.
Services for Herb will be private and he will be laid to rest, with military honors, with his late wife at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
