Emma Luz Olmo Alfonseca, 82, of Columbia. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and lived in this area since 2009. Prior, she was an avid New Yorker who loved working for The NY Telephone Company retiring after forty years. She went on to work for another ten years with the Tax Office of West New York, NJ. Emma was crafty and enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting Victorian dresses for her dolls, and sewing dresses for her dog, Mia. On May 19, 2026 at 2:15 p.m. Eastern time the Lord sent His angels to bring home his servant Emma to be by His side. The Lord needed a great cook, fierce lover of her children and grandchildren and a generous and compassionate person. Emma’s loyalty and commitment to her family are qualities that we always admired. We are sad and our hearts hurt because we love you and your family. Emma is home with Jesus. Mission accomplished! Heaven is now her home. We know that you are rejoicing in Heaven, Emma.
Emma leaves behind her children Chamaine S. Alfonseca DeLeon, wife of Tony DeLeon of Columbia, Ariel I. Alfonseca, husband of Nichol Alfonseca of Columbia; four grandchildren Kyle Alfonseca, companion of Koreena Fansler of Wrightsville, Aaron Medina Alfonseca of Columbia, Faith DeLeon of Lancaster, James Menter of Lancaster; four brothers Joseph, Charlie, Johnny, and Henry Olmo; her canine companion Mia Sol; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
