He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, Penn State football, traveling, playing cards, hunting at his camp in Centre County but most of all he loved his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Donald on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the American Legion Post 34, 1388 Arcadia Rd., PA at 1:00 pm.

Donald E. Shelley, Sr. of Salunga, passed away on December 19, 2025 after 94 years of being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, stepfather, great grandfather and friend. He was the husband of the late Harriet Jones Shelley with whom he was married 45 years until her death in 1995 and the late Dorothy McKonly Shelley whom he celebrated 11 years of marriage until her passing on January 28, 2011.

Born in East Prospect, he was the son of the late Roy and Minnie Beaverson Shelley. A Red Lion High School graduate, Don retired after 45 years of service from the former ITT Grinnell Corporation where he was employed as a millwright. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, Penn State football, traveling, playing cards, hunting at his camp in Centre County but most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his children, Tony M. husband of Margaret Shelley, Columbia; Deborah L. Tressler wife or Robert Tressler, York; Jodie wife of Roger Gordon, Mount Joy; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; stepsons, Jerry husband of Wanda McKonly, Lancaster and Mike husband of Deb McKonly, Fl; and his companion Dolores Gibson, Columbia. The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald E. Shelley, Jr., stepdaughter, Terry McKonly, four brothers, one sister and one stepsister along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Donald on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the American Legion Post 34, 1388 Arcadia Rd., PA at 1:00 pm.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care or the Columbia Animal Shelter or Friendship Community, Lititz, PA.
