Carole Z. Faust, 77, of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, September 20, 2018 at home. She was the wife of Peter W. Faust with whom she was married 55 years. Born in Franklin Pa, she was the daughter of the late Philip M. and Elizabeth Howard Ziegler.

Carole spent a happy childhood in Bethlehem, PA. Her stories and memories of that time were fond and many. She eventually moved to Johnstown, PA where she graduated from Westmont Hilltop High and eventually met and married her beloved husband. She graduated from Penn State University and was a lifelong Nittany Lion football fanatic. She attended countless games at Beaver Stadium and several bowl games including the 1986 Fiesta Bowl when they won a National Championship! Carole loved to travel and did so frequently in her younger days. She especially enjoyed her trips to England, Spain, Germany for Oktoberfest, Prague and the Cayman Islands. Not the mention the many trips taken with her closest friends, Andre and Sally Beaumont. She was a fulltime working mother and spent most of her career as an educator. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Services in 1981 from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. Soon after, she became the Director of Zoerner House Student Counseling Center at Rider from which she retired in 2002. Carole impacted the lives of so many kids, students and friends – this is her professional legacy. She lived and raised her family in Kendall Park, NJ. She and Pete spent many years coaching girls’ softball and always enjoyed having her children and their friends at her home. She was “Mom” to so many and deeply loved by them all. Carole was a voracious reader, trivia genius and faithful Jeopardy fan. She told great stories, epic jokes and was the life of the party. She was quick witted, hysterically funny and wicked smart. She was a devoted grandmother to her 4 grandchildren whom she loved fiercely, was wildly proud of and often boasted about to anyone who would listen. Her family, immediate and extended, was her world and meant everything to her as she did to them. While Carole is gone too soon, in her later years she suffered chronic health issues that stifled the woman we all knew and loved. She will be missed so very much by so many.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Heidi F. wife of David Wells; Britta F. wife of Sean Burton; grandchildren, Bethany C. Burton, Samuel D., Abigail L. and Phillip A. Wells. Her sisters, Betsy wife of Albert Baker and Robin wife of Tommy Auldridge also survive.

The family will be holding a memorial life celebration at a later date. If desired, please consider a small donation to the American Lung Association in lieu of flower. Arrangements by the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc.
