Barb enjoyed watching QVC, visiting the casino, Roots Market on Tuesdays, and pot pie dinners with family.

Services for Barb will be private and she will be laid to rest with her beloved Barry at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Barbara Doutrich, affectionately known as “Aunt Barb” to most, 67, of Columbia passed away on March 21, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born in Columbia to the late Anna Mae Altland and was a lifelong resident of Columbia.

Barb was a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1976. She worked with Kahn Lucas before working with QVC retiring after twenty years. Following retirement, she liked working part time for the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy. Barb enjoyed watching QVC, visiting the casino, Roots Market on Tuesdays, and pot pie dinners with family. Her quick wit and straight shooting personality will be missed by all.

Barb leaves behind brothers Harold Altland, Donald (Darlene) Altland, sister-in-law Amelia (Jerry) Hake; nieces and nephews, Audrey Hake, Amy Schwartz, Jerry Hake (Beth), Noel Doutrich (Dean), Sara Greth (Carl), Victoria Altland; great nieces and nephews, Liz, Robert, Seth, Ethan, Ella, Theo, and Millie. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Barry Doutrich in 2013.  

Services for Barb will be private and she will be laid to rest with her beloved Barry at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Barb’s family would like to thank Dr Forman, the nurses and staff at Penn State Lime Spring Oncology, the nurses and aides from Hospice and Community Care, and the aides from Comfort Keepers who cared for her through her journey.
