Richard P. Sweeney Sr., 78 of Landisville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his children. He was the husband of the late, Idalia N. Sweeney. Born in York, PA, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Erma G. (Fishel) Sweeney.

Richard leaves behind three children: Richard P. Sweeney, Jr. husband of Charlotte Walton Sweeney, Mounty Joy; Trina M. wife of Michael Albert, Landisville; Meagan K. Sweeney, Landisville. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: child of Richard, Jr., Abigal S.; children of Trina: Brandon, Gabriella, Ethan and Dylan; children of Meagan: Argely, Isabella, Elaina & Grayson.

He graduated from Spring Grove High School and joined the U.S Marine Corp upon graduation. He worked in sales for 30 plus years and then became a truck driver at 72.

He found the Lord again and re-established his faith with the church.

“Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

If I should die before I wake

I pray the Lord my soul to Take.”

Memorial services and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.

He worked in sales for 30 plus years and then became a truck driver at 72.

Sarah E. Brownsberger, 91 formerly of Washington Boro, passed away on August 18, 2025 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Monroe A. Brownsberger with whom she was married 63 years until his death in 2016. Born in York County, she was the daughter of the late Roman and Anna Drake Spahr. During her working years, she worked in various local restaurants and Central PA Tuxedo’s. 

She is survived by her son, Floyd K. Brownsberger (Pamela); four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Deardorff; Margaret Bierbower; brother, John Spahr and daughter Sarah Clugston (George).

James “Jamie” Anthony Iannaccone, 72, of Landisville, passed away surrounded by his family on August 18, 2025, following a courageous battle with ALS.

Born in Queens, NY and raised in Hanover Township, NJ, Jamie was the son of the late Saverio and Beatrice (O’Hara) Iannaccone. He graduated from Bayley Ellard High School in the Class of 1971, where he played football, and went on to play at Union University before transferring to the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in civil engineering.

Jamie enjoyed a long and successful career with Schindler Elevator Corporation, retiring as Vice President. He was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan, and he loved traveling with his family. Above all, Jamie was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who deeply cherished time spent with loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie (Hackett) Iannaccone of Landisville; his son, Matthew Iannaccone of Landisville; his siblings: Barbara, wife of Gerry Blair of Lutherville, MD; Lawrence, husband of Cecilia Iannaccone of Spring Lake, NJ; Robert, husband of Karen Iannaccone of Morristown, NJ; and Victor, husband of the late Linda Iannaccone of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Karen, wife of Ronald Usner of New Holland, and Patricia, wife of Barry Pautz of New Holland; brother-in-law Terry Hackett of New Holland; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 247 Main Street, Landisville, PA 17538. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Landisville Mennonite Cemetery.

Gloria Jean (Wallace) Harner

On Saturday, August 9, 2025 surrounded by her family Gloria passed peacefully at the age of 86.  She was born on June 2, 1939 to Arthur Wallace and Angelina (Simione) Wallace.  She was the first born out of six, two sisters Shirley and Patti, and three brothers, Arthur, James and Stephan.

Gloria attended William Penn High School and played basketball, was a flag twirler and ping pong champion.

On August 18, 1956 she married Kenneth Harner.  They had two children, Cindi L. Harner and Scott A. Harner. 

Ken and Gloria took over a business, Nikki’s in Carlisle and started their 36 years of bakeries in Harrisburg. They started Sugar n Spice (Leymoyne) which became Harner’s Bakery in Broad Street Market. Gloria went to classes and learned to decorate cakes and won many awards for her special character cakes and beautiful wedding cakes.

Her hobbies were fishing, golfing, drawing and painting, knitting and cross stitching and reading.

Over the years she was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Family was the most important thing to her.  She prayed for all her family every day.

Let us carry her love and passion of family to all her kids, grands, great grands and great great grands.

Robert J. “Bob” Brubaker, 87, of Landisville, passed away at home Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Bob was a 1956 graduate of Columbia High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years.  He continued his education at Millersville University and went on to be a physics teacher at Hempfield High School for 36 years.  He retired in 2000.

Bob and his fellow teachers worked as painters for many years during the summer months and also, he worked at Doug’s Paint Store in East Petersburg.  He had a passion for airplanes and completed his private license so he could fulfill his dream of flying.

Bob enjoyed hunting and going to the beach.  He was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Columbia.

He was the son of the late Janet Voight and Robert Brubaker.  He is survived by his wife, Kay Alice (Miller) Brubaker; his daughter, Stephanie and his 3 grandchildren, Krispin, Daisy and Jerry. Also, surviving is his sister, Patricia Musser of Columbia.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne.

Funeral Services will be held at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut Street, Columbia, PA on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Martha Harris, officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.

Robert Poindexter, son of the late Frank J. Poindexter and the late Dorothy E. Burke Poindexter, was born on July 4, 1939 in Columbia, Pennsylvania.  Robert married the love of his life, Shirley Bailer P. Poindexter on November 24, 1984.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion AME Church, served on the church Trustee board, was a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Men of Valor, and sang with the Mount Zion Singers. 

Robert was an avid sports fan, he loved Jazz Music and Gospel Music-most notably, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. Robert was an avid reader, he enjoyed shopping, talking, and spending quality time with family.  He was a great fundraiser.

Robert attended Columbia High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Air force. He was a proud Air Force Veteran.  He was a Prince Hall Mason and was a member of Lincoln Valley Lodge #93 of Columbia, PA where he was elected & served as Worshipful Master. He served as Illustrious Potentate of Himyar Shrine Temple #17 and was a member of Nimrod Consistory #9, both of Harrisburg, PA. Robert was a member of the former Harvey T. Makle Post #722 American Legion.

Robert retired from McMinns Asphalt. Later, during his retirement he worked for the Manheim Auto Auction. 

Robert Poindexter went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Penn Medicine, Lancaster General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Bailer P. Poindexter. Surviving besides his wife are his daughter, Aleece Miller of Mt Joy, PA, stepchildren, Terrence Proctor and Tamara Cooksey (Michael), both of Columbia, PA; siblings, Vivian Colon of Columbia, PA and Gerald Poindexter (Elaine) of California, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by siblings, Lucille Abney, John Poindexter, Leroy Poindexter, Elizabeth Lopez, Charles Poindexter, Norma Freeman, Barbara Beattie, Arthur Poindexter, Richard Poindexter, and Malcom Poindexter.  

A Military Tribute will be held, beginning at 11:00AM on Friday August 15, 2025 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 6th & Locust Streets, Columbia, PA. This will be followed by the Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Patricia S. McAllister officiating. Interment at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. James “Jim” Robert Clark, 78, of Bainbridge passed away on August 5, 2025. He was born in Columbia to the late James and Mary Penwell Kessler and was a lifelong resident of this area. Jim was a graduate of Donegal High School with the Class of 1964 and proudly served in the United States Navy and National Guard for thirty years.

Jim leaves behind his wife of twenty-three years Jaqueline Hawkins-Clark of Bainbridge; daughter-in-law Cindy Mohr of Marietta; granddaughter Adrienne Mohr, companion of Shane Strickler of Bainbridge; great grandson Tyler Mohr of Bainbridge. Patricia Ann (Smith) Kennedy, 93 of Columbia, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord while surrounded by her family on July 30, 2025, at St. Anne's Retirement Community.

Pat lived a life defined by Faith, kindness, and devotion to her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Pat dedicated her life to caring for others. Her unwavering faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived each day with compassion, laughter and gratitude.

Pat is survived by her children Melanie (William Shank), Kathleen Bigler, Mary Ann (Robert Claraval) Michael Kennedy (Lucy). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Michael Shank (Jesse), Jennifer Gibbons (James), Steven Shank (Kellie), Jesse Bigler (Amy), Christine Scarito-Thomas (Louis), Scott Murr (Amber), Eric Murr (Rachel), Meghan Roth (Edward) and Brandon Kennedy (Alex). Pat is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren Braden Landis, Kayla Grove, Madison and Colin Gibbons, Carter and Chloe Shank, Mason and Lincoln Scarito-Thomas, Morgan, Brynn and Blake Bigler, Alaina Neal, Blake and Jack Murr, Cora Murr and Otis Roth who was born July 30, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband William Kennedy, parents, Raymond and Mary Ann (Schickling) Smith, siblings Loretta Risse, Mary (Skip) Zaephel, Helen Bailey, John (Bud) Smith and son in law, Scott Bigler.

Pat graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School with the Class of 1948 and worked as an Executive Secretary for DeWalt Saw Co., Lancaster. She later worked for the former People's Drug Store for 16 years, winning many awards for her in store candy displays. Pat also enjoyed working for the local election polls and taking local census.

Pat was married to William Kennedy for 49½ years before his passing in 2003. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic church since 1954 and served as Secretary for St. Peter's Mother's Club. She volunteered at many parish events including the annual Lenten Fish Fry's.

Known for her talent designing floral arrangements, Pat enjoyed decorating her home for holidays. She was life long friends with and member of a ladies Pinochle card club for 35 years and loved to follow Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football.

Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially vacations in Stone Harbor, NJ for 62 years. Pat will be remembered most for her warm sense of humor, generous spirit, and unwavering positivity. She always placed the needs of her loved ones above her own.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512 with a Rosary beginning at 7:15 PM. Richard M. (Dick) Fawber, 99, formerly of Naomi Ave. Landisville passed away on July 29, 2025 at Oak Leaf Manor North.  He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Jerry) Fawber who passed away June 27, 2013.  They had been married 63 years at the time of her passing.  He was born in Rohrerstown to the late Chester and Ethel Elsen Fawber and was a lifelong resident of Landisville.

Dick attended East Hempfield High School and enlisted in the Navy right before graduation.  He was a WWII veteran and served aboard the USS Marathon (APA 200) which transported the first Marine division for the invasion of Okinawa.  His ship was later torpedoed while at anchor in Buckner Bay.  Luckily he decided to sleep topside that night because it was so hot in his sleeping quarters. 

Dick was part owner of E.L. Kline & Sons roofing and spouting business along with his father-in-law and 2 brothers in-law.  He eventually retired from the Hempfield School District custodial services.  He was a charter member of the Ironville Rod and Gun Club, Potter County and former member of the Landisville Volunteer Fire Co.  He was also a member of the Mount Joy American Legion. 

Dick was hard working and expected the same from everyone else.  He thoroughly enjoyed cutting firewood with his buddies, picking and freezing corn and driving tractor for the Landis farm stand.  Most of all he loved spending summers fishing and boating with his wife and family at their cottage in Bowers Beach Delaware. He will best be remembered for his dry sense of humor, speaking what’s on his mind and keeping everyone in line.

He leaves behind 2 daughters, Linda, wife of James Sload, Port Charlotte Florida and Susan, wife of Barry Von Stetten, Landisville.  His granddaughter Kellye Von Stetten, fiancé of Eli Anderson and 2 step grandsons Dustin Sload and Brian Von Stetten also survive.  Sisters Doris Bell and Joan Musser and brother Robert Fawber preceded him in death.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Oak Leaf Manor for their compassion and care that Dick received over the past 3 ½ years.  A special thank you to the Ascend Hospice staff for their kind and respectful ways of handling of his final days.

A graveside service will be held in the Landisville Mennonite Cemetery on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Donna Christoher, presiding. Randall C. Dougherty, 70, of Landisville passed away on July 29, 2025. He was born in Lancaster to the late Kenneth and Bulah Oliver Dougherty and was a lifelong resident of Landisville.

Randy was a graduate of Hempfield High School with the Class of 1972 and went on to graduate from Mount Joy Vo-Tech. He worked for R.R. Donnelley for more than thirty years before retiring and becoming a CDL truck driver with XPO until his recent retirement.

Randy was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan who also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and was a muscle car enthusiast. Randy enjoyed spending time at various car shows and volunteered at the Hershey AACA Fall Meet. Randy was an active member of the Riverside Camping Association. He enjoyed the great food, live bands, and spending time with friends and family. He was a loving father and grandfather, who never missed his son’s or grandson’s baseball games. Randy was a lifelong and faithful member of the Church of God of Landisville.

Randy leaves behind two sons, Eric Dougherty of Landisville and James J. Dougherty, husband of Beth Dougherty of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Becky and Carsen Dougherty of Lancaster; one brother, Richard Dougherty of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In Loving Memory of Thomas “Tom” Lawson III

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Thomas “Tom” Lawson III of Columbia, who departed this life on July 26, 2025. Devoted husband to the late Mary Lou Murry Lawson, their marriage spanned 58 beautiful years until her passing in 2022. Born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas Lawson Jr. and Mildred Rexer Lawson, Tom made Columbia his cherished home and remained a committed supporter of the community throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Haverford High School, Tom built a distinguished career at Caterpillar, Inc. in York. His dedication extended beyond the workplace into the heart of Columbia, where he was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, an active participant in the Knights of Columbus Council 2294, and a familiar presence in many local social clubs.

Tom was a devoted family man and a loving husband, whose kindness radiated in everything he did. He had an extraordinary gift for connection, remembering every person he met, no matter how brief the encounter, and always making others feel seen and valued. Selfless and generous to the core, Tom never hesitated to lend a helping hand, going out of his way for anyone in need. Tom’s lifelong passion for sports shaped much of his journey—from playing basketball and baseball, to coaching the Holy Trinity boys’ team, and savoring rounds of golf. He also cherished meals with friends and cared for his four companions.

Tom is survived by his children, Michael M., husband of Carole Lawson, and Tracy L., wife of James Yeand; grandchildren Ryan and Kelly Lawson, and Mark and Jessica Yeand; great-granddaughter Kayla Rose; siblings Richard, husband of Helene Lawson, and Barbara, wife of Thomas McElvogue; sister-in-law Anne, wife of Richard Gerz; and several loving nieces and nephews.

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Peter W. Faust, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He departed this world on July 24th, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Pete leaves behind his daughters, Britta F. Burton and Heidi F Wells. 4 grandchildren, whom he adored, Bethany Carole Burton, Abigail Wells Varas, Phillip Atlee Wells and Samuel David Wells. Sons in law, Sean Burton and David Wells. Sisters in law, Robin Auldridge and Betsy Baker (wife of Al Baker). He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Carole Z. Faust, his parents Atlee Franklin Faust and Louise Christine Faust and siblings Gary and Karen.

Pete was a thoughtful and loving dad to his daughters. He was a true family man who spent his free time camping, hiking, going to movies, Yankees games, chaperoning school trips and coaching softball. He was a curious and adventurous man who was a bit ahead of his time. He rode a bike in cycling shorts and a helmet before it was in fashion. He read the paper every day, cover to cover, until he could no longer see the pages. He was handsome and always well dressed, a real beau brummel. He loved a good watch, his dogs, catamaran sailing, the beach, scuba diving, traveling with his wife, grilling on the weber, steamed crabs with lots of old bay, Wilbur buds and fresh flowers.

Pete was a proud man whose strength and wisdom shaped the lives of many. His kindness, generosity, and somewhat unintended humor shone through, even at the end of his fight. Though Alzheimer’s brought its trials, he faced them with quiet strength and grace, never losing the spark that made him so deeply loved by family and friends alike.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who offered support, care, and kindness during his illness. We especially thank his caregivers at Luther Acres, Lisa, Angelea, Kamryn, Darlene, Kevin, Kate, Sandrine and Johnny.

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, a life marked by resilience, compassion, and love. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.

Sandra Joanne Newcomer, 87, rejoined her Lord and beloved family on July 16, 2025. Born on October 30, 1937, to the extraordinary Charles A. and Rachel (Millar) Gable, of Columbia; Sandy was preceded in death by her only brother, Charles, Jr., in 2006. She is survived by her loving husband Donald B. Newcomer, 90.

Sandy was a cheerleader for her Columbia High School graduating class of 1955. It was during this time that “Sandy the Dandy”  met handsome football center Donald Newcomer. Within a few years Don would become the love of Sandy’s life and she, his “Sunshine.” Don and Sandy married in 1957 and celebrated their 68th anniversary earlier this year.  Sandy worked at Columbia Bank for several years but found her true calling as a mother and servant to others.

Sandy brought great joy to her family: Donald Newcomer, Jr and spouse Dottie, daughter Susan Newcomer and spouse Shonna Ilgenfritz, daughter Shara Crumling and spouse Ross, and daughter Lauri Kugle and Matthew.  Also grandchildren Danielle Reed, Drew Newcomer, Douglas Newcomer, Kayla Nicholas, Sarah White, Katie Kugle, and Joshua Kugle; and great grandchildren Joseph and Zoe Newcomer, Janelle and Danicka Reed, and Micah White.

Don and Sandy have been models of commitment to each another, their families, and the communities of faith they poured into through the years. In addition to being an exceptional wife and stay-at-home mom, Sandy exceled in artistic pursuits including painting ceramics and creating banners. She loved music and sang in many church choirs; she was even known to yodel from time to time.  Sandy enjoyed her bowling leagues and supported her children’s participation in so many activities. She endeavored to make each birthday and family adventure special, hosted gatherings for nearly every occasion, and was a wonderful cook. Sandy will be remembered most of all, however, for her tender heart and the steadfast love that was the anchor for our family. She was a woman of deep faith and the embodiment of Proverbs 31:28-30.

Please join Don and our family for a celebration of Sandy’s life and Spirit at Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc.  519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA, on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 1:00p.m. with Pastor Jim Herbert, officiating. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. Immediate family and out of town guests will be welcomed for a meal at the conclusion of services.

Ann Westbrook Grubb, 91, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 at Luther Acres in Lititz, PA. She was the wife of the late Luke K. Grubb with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Huntingdon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kirk M. Westbrook and Kathryn Decker Westbrook. 

She is survived by her son, David Kirk Grubb and daughter, Meredith Ann DiBona, wife of Gerard DiBona; four granddaughters: Victoria and Oliva Grubb; Samantha and Ellie DiBona; and a grandson, Justin DiBona; sister-in-law, Kathryn Schmidt; two nieces: Kathy Blozy, wife of Tom and their children Jake, Luke, and Tessa; Jeannine Alter, wife of Robert and their children Sadie and Emma. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip Thomas Grubb and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Reynolds.

After graduating from West Chester University in 1955, she toured Europe noting her favorite destination as Florence, Italy.  She taught elementary school in the Columbia Public School District.  She was married to Luke K. Grubb in 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church where he was the Organist and Choirmaster.  Ann was very active in the Columbia Community participating in Manor Street School Parent’s Club, Columbia Band Boosters Club, Meals on Wheels, Advisory Board of Columbia Borough School District, and Columbia Little Theater.  She was elected to the Columbia Borough Council on which she served for 8 years.  She was a member of the Columbia Municipal Authority, President of the Columbia Hospital Auxiliary, and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Council.  She worked extensively to promote both Columbia and Lancaster County tourism by serving as a board member on the tourism committee of the Lancaster Farmland Trust, Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Downtown Development Corporation, and Columbia Market House task force.  In 1998, Ann retired as the Director of the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce.

In their retirement, Ann and Luke enjoyed traveling to Fort Myers Beach, FL and Rehoboth Beach, DE where they would be frequently joined by their children and grandchildren.  After moving to St. John’s Herr Estate in 2013, Ann was active with the Residents Council, welcoming new residents and working in the corner store.

Ann will always be remembered for her infectious optimism and selfless concern for others.  An avid sports fan, she followed the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and several college football and basketball teams. Those who knew Ann, marveled at her ability to connect with everyone she met, remembering details of every interaction while proudly sharing her own family’s accomplishments.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from the Chapel at St. John's Herr Estate, 200 Luther Lane, Columbia PA 17512 with Rev. Dione M. Klepetka officiating. Christine “Tina” M. Gottschall, 72, of Marietta, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Randy L. Gottschall. They would have joyfully celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June.

Born in Columbia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Christian S. and Naomi Wall Miller. Tina was a devoted mother, a treasured friend, and a gentle soul whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her.

After more than 30 years of dedicated service, she retired from Donegal Mutual Insurance Company. Tina was known for her resilient spirit, her laughter that brightened rooms, and the deep compassion she showed to family, friends, and strangers alike.

She was a remarkable mother to Lisa M. Gottschall of Lancaster and Donald L. Lucas, Jr. of Marietta. Tina fought with unwavering strength to remain by her children’s side, sustained by their love and guided by a faith that gently carried her until God called her home.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters, as well as other beloved souls who embraced her gently into everlasting peace.

Funeral services will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kelly Jo Singleton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Beverly Ann Euculano, 73, of Wrightsville passed away on July 8, 2025. She was born in Columbia to the late James and Margaret Studenroth Frey and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Beverly was a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1970 and then graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Millersville University in 1975. She owned along with her husband the former Fresh Market Deli in Columbia from 1981 – 1984. Most recently, she worked with Walmart until her retirement in 2017. Beverly loved her church and was a lifelong and active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she served in numerous positions and was the treasurer for more than twenty-five years. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family and treasured spending time with them.

Beverly leaves behind her husband of forty-eight years Joe Euculano of Wrightsville; two sons, Tony Euculano, husband of Missy Force of Etters, Nick, husband of Samantha of York; two grandsons, Owen and Everett Euculano; two siblings, Bea Warfel of Columbia, Jim, husband of Sharon Frey of Lancaster; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Eleanor Marie Rapp, 89, of Marietta passed away on July 8, 2025. She was born in Lebanon to the late Charles and Lena Dietz and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Eleanor attended the former Marietta High School and worked most recently as a security guard with the former ITT Grinnell. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing, gardening, and tending to her flowers. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family and treasured spending time with them. She was a devoted and involved parishioner of Mary Mother of the Church in Mount Joy.

Eleanor leaves behind four children, John, husband of Lisa Rapp of Millersville, Eleanor, wife of Ronald Ault of Mount Joy, Susan, wife of the late Clair Knight of Marietta, Michael, husband of Dani Rapp of Marietta; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; one sister and numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Rapp in 1992; a daughter Catherine Fredrick; two brothers, Charles and Albert Dietz.

Catherine V. (Kit) Brommer, 98, of Columbia, passed away on Monday July 7, 2025 at the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown. She was the wife of the late James Brommer with whom she was married 61 years. Born in Marietta she was the daughter of the late Harry S. Penwell and Veronica Penwell Tschudy. In addition to her parents, five siblings preceded her in death – Francis Neff, Agnes Shields, Mary Shields Bell, Loretta Shields Potenzo, and Clovie Penwell Gibble. Catherine was the last of her immediate family.

Kit attended Marietta High School and was crowned May Queen in 1942. She retired from Wyeth Lab after 31 years of service as supervisor of the bottle sterilization room. Kit was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church Columbia serving on the ladies committee as baker for their annual Strawberry Festival. She was an avid antique collector, traveler and artist. Kit and her husband traveled to and through 30 states plus Canada, Nova Scotia, and Bermuda. She got to see Queen Elizabeth up close riding in a royal carriage while in Bermuda. Kit spent her later winter retirement years traveling to West Palm Beach, Florida with her husband and English bulldogs in their RV.

Kit leaves behind her daughter Brenda Brommer Smith, wife of the late Gregory Smith and her son James Brommer, husband of Victoria Kocher Brommer. Three grandchildren – Keary Smith, husband of Jodi (Styer) Smith; Jennifer (Smith) Kauffman, wife of Kevin Kauffman; and Ryan Brommer, husband of Jennifer (Heller) Brommer. Six great-grandchildren – Dylan and Brady Smith, Connor, Ethan and Julia Catherine Kauffman, and Mackenzie Brommer. Catherine was a devoted and faithful wife, a caring and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her but will never be forgotten.

Miriam “Mim” Swingler, 92, of Columbia passed away surrounded by her family on July 3, 2025. She was born in Columbia to the late Michael and Ella Graham-Bard Mowrer and was a lifelong resident of Columbia.

Mim was a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1951 and worked up until she had her children. She loved sitting in the sun and visiting the beaches of Stone Harbor. Mim was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family and treasured spending time with them.

Mim leaves behind her children Bill, husband of Lorie Swingler of Columbia, Kim, wife of David Kline of West Hempfield; four grandchildren, Abby, wife of Brandon Yordy of Hershey, Harrison, husband of Sasha Kline of Harleysville, Ethan Kline of Pittsburgh, Joel Kline of West Hempfield; a great granddaughter Lyla Yordy of Hershey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Swingler in 2011; a grandson Christopher Swingler, ten siblings, Esther, Stella, Mary, Mildred, Elizabeth, Melvin, Reuben, Hiram, Paul, and Earl.
