In 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division and the 1st Air Calvary.
Paul will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
Paul W. Meisenbach, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Hospice Care Unit of the Veterans Administration in Lebanon, where he received the care, dignity, and honor he so deeply deserved after a lifetime of service.
Born on August 18, 1949, Paul graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1967 and later attended York College. In 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division and the 1st Air Calvary. His personal awards included: Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal, National Defense Medal, Army Accommodation, and Vietnam Campaign, and numerous service medals.
Paul remained deeply committed to his fellow veterans throughout his life. He was a life member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club. He also served with dedication and distinction as the Pennsylvania State Sergeant-at-Arms for more than 25 years.
Paul is survived by his son, Joshua A. Meisenbach of Harrisburg; and his siblings, Denise Brubaker (Gary), Michelle Post (Tim), Richard Meisenbach (Kim), Thomas Miesenbach (Sue), Jeanmare Nobile (Ron), Chrstine Horn, and James Meisenbach (Theresa). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will all remember him with love and pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. Meisenbach and Cleona E. Meisenbach.
At a later date, Paul will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where full military honors will mark a final salute to our brother, who served with strength, loyalty and pride.
