Mildred M. Sakal, 100 of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Hospice and Community Care. She was the wife of the late Albert R. Sakal who preceded her in death in 2001. Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Clemens and Marie Krischer Klenner.
A homemaker, Mildred mostly worked as a homemaker but did work at the Navy Mine depot during the Second World War. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia and her hobbies included crocheting and other craft projects.
She is survived by her daughter, Esther M., wife of Joseph Scholly; son, Dennis G., husband of Drenda Sakal; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Wilke, officiating.
