Mary enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching Law & Order and Downton Abbey, and the company of her cat – Hope.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St, Columbia, PA 17512.

The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be private and she will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Harrisburg.

Mary C. Shepler, 77, of Washington Boro passed away on January 3, 2026. She was born in Harrisburg to the late Joseph Mannion and Claire Mulvehill and was a lifelong resident of the Central Pennsylvania area.

Mary enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching Law & Order and Downton Abbey, and the company of her cat – Hope. She enjoyed the weekends at the family’s cabin in the Poconos. She volunteered at Columbia’s National Watch and Clock Museum and enjoyed gathering with friends at Newcomers & Neighbors of Lancaster Pa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, who adored her family and treasured spending time with them.

Mary leaves behind her children, Mark, husband of Wendy Mudrinich of York Haven, Tracie, wife of Kurt Young of Washington Boro; two grandchildren, Christopher and Madison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Shepler in 2014 and three brothers.
