Liz had a quiet, gentle manner and a healthy sense of humor. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Mary Elizabeth Funk,90, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on April 24, 2026, at Landis Homes, Lititz, where she resided since 2019. Born in Manor Township, she was the daughter of the late Christian H. and Mary Brubaker Funk.
“Liz” was a lifelong member of Habecker Mennonite Church where she participated in the Lord’s Acre, Sewing Circle, and taught Sunday School. Several summers she traveled to Sunderlinville, PA to teach Bible School. In her early years she enjoyed working on the family farm catering to her dog, Pearly.
Liz graduated from Manor-Millersville High School. Later on, she earned her LPN degree at Practical Nurse Program of Lancaster School District. Her career spanned years at the Mennonite Home, and later Brethren Village. Liz had a quiet, gentle manner and a healthy sense of humor. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Liz faithfully cared for her mother at their Centerville home. Liz treasured her five nieces and nephews: Lois (James) Harnish of Washington Boro, Janice (Mark) Charles of Washington Boro, Jo Funk (Paul Schlitz, Jr.) of Baltimore, MD, Janie (Leon) Horst of Ephrata, and Jay (Pam) Funk of Lancaster, as well as thirteen great-nieces and nephews, and twenty-three great great nieces and nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, her brother E. Curtis Funk, and sister-in-law Betty K. Funk. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In honor of Elizabeth, we invite donations to the Landis Homes – Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Rd, Lititz, PA 17543.
