October 23, 1983 – April 04, 2024

Jessica Marie (Herbst) Lake, 40, passed away unexpectedly at home, Thursday, April 04, 2024. She was born in York, PA.

Jess was an amazing person. She had a big heart and magnetic personality. Among the list of things she loved to do are; fishing with her son, making people laugh, unleashing her sense of adventure at Knoebels Amusement Park, and spending time with family and friends.

Sadly, all her talents, friendships, positive outlook, and most importantly, the closeness of family, were sidelined by drug addiction. Jess’s life was cut short before she could conquer the fight. Her sudden and unfortunate passing can be a reminder to each of us and reach out to those in our lives who may be suffering with similar struggles with love, compassion, and helpful resources. Our love for her will be eternally in our hearts!

Survivors include; parents, Donald Herbst Jr., Danielle Romero and husband, Luis; Children, Shylyn Lake, Dezeray Lake, Ashtyn Warner, Jasmine Taylor and husband, Mark, and Alexie Warner; Brothers, Nicholas Herbst and wife, and Joel Smith Jr.; Fiancee, Joshua Warner; Grandparents, Judy and (deceased) Donald Herbst Sr., Barry and Rita Stump, Sheila (deceased) and Robert Miller; Aunts, Mary Herbst and significant other, Tara Sydorko and husband, Christopher; Uncle, Harry Herbst and significant other; Grandchildren, Laykn, Ryan and Mark Jr.; Cindy Lake, and Brock Lake, along with numerous beloved cousins and by many people she considered to be extended family.
