Although she rooted hard for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, family was the focus of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 121 S. Second St., Columbia, PA on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Augustine Joseph, celebrant.
There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass.
Burial will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
Jeanne S. Barton, 90 formerly of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was the wife of William H. "Buzz" Barton with whom she was married 72 years. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Herzog Staub.
Jeanne graduated from Columbia High School in 1952 and retired as store manager for CVS Pharmacies after 28 years of service. Active in her school, church and community, she was a devoted member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Columbia. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking and most recently enjoyed puzzles, coloring and doing word searches. Although she rooted hard for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, family was the focus of her life.
In addition to her husband are her children, William H. "Buzz" husband of Deborah Barton, Michael D. Barton, Patrick A. husband of Cindy Barton, Kelly wife of David Miller, Kathy Barninger; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grand-children. Her brothers Robert and Henry Staub preceded her in death.
