Jack A. Fritz
Jack A. Fritz, 96, of Columbia passed away on August 22, 2025. He was born in Columbia to the late Dewey and Stella Minnich Fritz and was a lifelong resident of Columbia.
Jack attended Columbia High School and proudly served in the United States Navy and National Guard. Following his service, Jack worked with Tidy Products for twenty years and St. Anne’s Retirement Community for eleven years before his retirement. Jack was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2435 where he enjoyed being part of “The Liars Club”. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan who also enjoyed guns, working, and his dogs.
Jack will be lovingly missed by his children Kathleen Fritz Gilbert of Columbia, Peggy, wife of Charles Billet of Columbia, Jackie Shive, companion of Mike Wagner, Sr. of York, Henry Long, Jr., husband of Debra Long of Lancaster, Deborah, wife of Dennis Hornberger of Lititz, Francine Long of Columbia, Jeffrey Long of St. Petersburg, FL, Annette Marie Paris of Lancaster; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Frances Riganati Fritz in 2016; a daughter Patty Nobile; five brothers, Oliver, Vincent, Harold, Dewey, and Richard Fritz.
A graveside service for family and close friends, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Silver Spring Cemetery, 3611 Marietta Ave, Silver Spring, PA 17575. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Dr, Lancaster, PA 17601.
