George H. "Jock" Wike

Jock served in the U.S. Air Force from April 17, 1953 to January 16, 1957, during the Korean War as an Airman First Class.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, 845 Laurel Hill Rd, Columbia, PA 17512.

George H. “Jock” Wike passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born in Columbia, PA and was the son of the late Andrew Wike and Lillian Wike Flory.

Jock served in the U.S. Air Force from April 17, 1953 to January 16, 1957, during the Korean War as an Airman First Class.

He was a member of the VFW, Gap Post 7418 and The American Legion, New Holland Post 662. Jock enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Dragging Gypsies. He enjoyed hunting small games and deer. For many years he worked at The Union Camp Paper Box Company as a foreman and later in life worked as a Realtor for Wright Reality. 

Jock was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; brothers, Andrew and Taylor “Pete” Wike and a sister, Eunice Firestein. 

He is survived by two brothers, Harry and Charles Flory; one daughter, Kathy Thompson and her husband Mike; five grandchildren and their spouses, Courtney and Rick Matrunick, Alex and Andrea Thompson, Zak and Michelle Thompson, Nate and Lauren Thompson, and Brittney and Blake Thompson; and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, 845 Laurel Hill Rd, Columbia, PA 17512. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Association by visiting www.als.org.
