Masonic Funeral Services for Gene will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, Pa 17512.

The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow, with military honors, at Mount Zion Cemetery in Springettsbury.

Gene E. Winters, 89, of Windsor passed away on May 11, 2026. He was born in Lancaster to the late Clifford and Charlotte Findlay Winters and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Gene was a graduate of McCaskey High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force and Pennsylvania National Guard. Following his service, he worked for many years with Caterpillar before owning the former Maple Crest Inn of Columbia. Gene was a past Master of Masonic Lodge #286 in Columbia, Consistory of ASSR Harrisburg – Zimbo Shrine, Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, ASSR, past patron of Columbia Chapter #366, OES of Wrightsville, past President of the Lancaster County Licensed Beverage Association, and the Craftsman Club of Wrightsville. He was a craftsman who enjoyed leather work and carpentry. He was a history buff who loved war movies, tv westerns, and the Hallmark Channel. Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who adored his family and treasured spending time with them.

Gene leaves behind his children Deborah Cole, wife of Christopher Smith of Lancaster, Brian Pfeiffer of Windsor, Jim, husband of Patty Pfeiffer of Lancaster, Vicki, wife of Jaime Redcay of Windsor; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Winters in 2012 and two sons Duane Winters and Robert Pfeiffer, Jr.
