Charles William Lucas

Charles was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and sharing his many stories.

Services: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512.

The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens 

 

Charles William Lucas, 84, of Columbia passed away on April 14, 2024. He was born in Columbia to the late William and Helen Hilliar Lucas and was a lifelong resident of Columbia.

Charles was a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1958 and proudly served in the United States Navy. He most recently worked with the Columbia Boro School District in custodial maintenance. Charles was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and sharing his many stories. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle and brother who adored his family and treasured spending time with them.

Charles leaves behind his wife of sixty-two years, Ruby Hoffmaster Lucas; his son, Dennis, husband of Jill Lucas; granddaughter, Betsy, wife of Bobby Thompson; two great grandchildren, Destinee, wife of Jose Santos, Austin Lucas; two great great grandchildren, Justice and Jayana Santos; three siblings, Linda Colin, Shafter, husband of Roberta Lucas, Frank, husband of Carol Lucas; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dale Lucas; grandson, Jonah Lucas; three brothers, Donald, Raymond, and Larry Lucas.

Services for Charles will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
