Alvin Shell, 84, of Ephrata passed away on March 30, 2026. He was born in Erwin, TN to the late Alvin H. and Luvenia Poore Shell and lived most of his life in this area.
Alvin was a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1959 and proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service, he worked with Caterpillar for many years before retiring as a Commodity Manager. Alvin loved listening to jazz music, reading, and enjoyed traveling in his retirement all over the world. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who adored his family and treasured spending time with them.
Alvin leaves behind his wife Sandy Shell of Ephrata; three sons Joe Shell, companion of Kristin Kauffman of Mount Joy, Jim Shell, companion of Mags Hartery of Wrightsville, Tom, husband of Jenny Shell of Tazewell, TN; his grandson Mark Alvin Shell of Millersville; a brother Ed, husband of Leslie Shell of Lancaster; numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice Shell in 2017 and four siblings, Joyce DeBord, Gene Barr, Francis Barnett, Will Shell.
