Melissa Rose Swift, 60, of Marietta passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 28th, 2019. She was born in Johnstown to the late Bernard F. and Dorothy Droz Weigle and lived in Marietta for the last thirty years. Melissa attended Lampeter-Strasburg School District. She worked as a C.N.A. for Brereton Manor in Washington Boro and Cherry Street Guest Home in Columbia before becoming a sales representative for Goodwill Industries in Elizabethtown. Melissa eventually worked her way up to manager of that store all while managing her family’s real estate business. She finally retired from Michael’s Homestyle Breads as a baker’s assistant. Melissa was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for post 466 where she also participated in the Legion Riders. She enjoyed making picture collages for her family to treasure. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family.  

Melissa loved her family “to the moon and back” and leaves behind her husband of twenty two years, Michael Swift of Marietta; two sons, Bradley, fiancé of Kirsten Kreider of Wrightsville, Gerald Kreider of Marietta; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Karley Kreider, and one on the way; two siblings, Gerald, husband of Julie Weigle of Manheim, Kimberly, wife of Dave Brubaker of James Creek; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family; her canine companion, Yeager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernadette Judge.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held from 2:00–6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at the Foresters’ of America, 201 Locust St, Columbia, PA 17512. Elam Eugene Faus, 72, of Landisville passed away on March 24th, 2019. He was born in Lancaster to the late Richard Frey Faus and Edna Martin Faus and was a lifelong resident of this area. Elam was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School with the Class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with tours in Pleiku Vietnam. He later continued to serve fallen veterans with his involvement in the Vet 21 Salute Honor Guard. Following military service, he purchased Lancaster Blueprint Company in 1970 and operated it with his wife until 2006. Elam was active in his community and was a Past President of the former Hempfield Optimist Club, charter member of the Manheim Township Jaycees, and Past Master of Masonic Lamberton Lodge #476, 32° Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Lancaster, Lodge of Perfection, and Harrisburg Consistory. He was also an active member of the Mount Joy American Legion Post 185, Mount Joy VFW Post 5752, the Lancaster Elks Lodge #134, and the Red Rose Pistol Club. Elam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who adored his family.

Elam is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Constance “Connie” McCoy Faus of Landisville; his daughters, Janice, wife of the late Michael Corrigan of Annapolis, MD, Jennifer Sebelist, fiancé of Chris Fulginiti of Manheim Township; four grandchildren, Conor and Maura Corrigan, Jillian and Katherine Sebelist; a sister, Gloria, wife of Frank Gappa of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Elaine Erb.

Services for Elam will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 247 Main St, Landisville, PA 17538. Dominic J. "Mick" Roda, 84, of Mountville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St Anne's Retirement Community. He was the husband of Ruth E. Helm Roda with whom he was married 62 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Segro Roda.

Mick was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1954 and retired in 1994 after 33 years of service from the National Cash Register Company where was employed as a field engineer. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in New Mexico and Texas for two years and after being honorably discharged, worked briefly as a barber.

In addition, he enjoyed boating on the Susquehanna River from Long level, NASCAR, his pet boxers, rooting for the Philadelphia sports teams and spending time with the joy of his life, granddaughter, Emily.

In addition to his wife, is his son, Michael, husband of Jane Roda; granddaughter, Emily; siblings, Jean, wife of Norman Huhn; Josie, wife of Joseph Gerz; Jack, husband of Annette Roda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St. Columbia PA. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Naomi F. Ortman, 93, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2019 after a period of declining health. She was born in Columbia to the late Mervin and Mary Myers Rupp. Naomi was a graduate of Columbia High School and was a devoted housewife. She loved animals, enjoyed riding her bicycle, and treasured vacations with her family. Naomi was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Manheim.

Naomi leaves behind her daughters, Vickee, wife of Frank Mikolic of Manheim, Kim, wife of Randy Sweigart of Manheim, Linda Long of Lebanon, Sandy, wife of Allen Snavely of Manheim; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Ortman in 2009; her daughter, Tina Ortman in 2014; twelve siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbia. Richard E. "Rick" Miltenberger, Jr., 59, of Wrightsville, formerly of Columbia, passed at his residence on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Mary Stauffer Miltenberger and the late Richard E. Miltenberger, Sr.

Rick was employed for the past 41 years at ITT Engineered Valves, Lancaster, where he worked as a nuclear inspector. He was a life member of the Wrightsville Scoial Club; Columbia Fraternal Association; a member of the Foresters of America, Susquehanna Court 235; Chickies Rock Lodge 307, L.O.O.M; American Legion Post 372 and the Catholic War Veterans Post 1306. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother are his children, Christine M. Miltenberger; Steven M. husband of Amanda Miltenberger; siblings, John R. husband of June Miltenberger; Sharon L. Miltenberger; Patricia A. Miltenberger; Donna J. Miltenberger; James A. Miltenberger and Susan M. Miltenberger. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. His brothers, Michael E. and Gary L. Miltenberger preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held from the Clyde W. Beverly Kay Raff (Brenner) of 715 Walnut St. Columbia, PA died on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA. She was the wife of Joseph R. Raff, Jr. They were married on June 19, 1955. Born in Columbia, PA on July 30, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen Ada Mare Miller Brenner.

She held jobs at the following: Hanes Shoe Store, C.A. Herr Hardware, Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens and Brenner Accounting Services. She was a member of the First Church of God, Columbia. Bev loved her family and very much enjoyed spending time with them. Her family was her life.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter-in-law: Jo Raff of Columbia, PA and a brother: Joseph T. Brenner of Wrightsville, PA., grandchildren: Crystal R. wife of Richard Jensen and Joseph D. husband of Cristy Raff and great-grandchildren: Aaron Raff, Sophia Raff, Isabella Jensen and Liam Jensen. She was predeceased by a son: Joseph R. Raff III on March 22, 2013 and a daughter: Dianne K. Raff on April 5, 2013 and a sister: Doris Brenner Nock.

Margaret A. "Peg" Seibert, 78, of Lancaster, past away peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at home. She was the wife of Robert F. Seibert, Jr. with whom she was married 54 years. Born at home in Middleburg, Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late John B. Jr. and Margaret Snook Schuck.

Peg graduated from Middleburg High School and Shippensburg University. She retired in 2002 after 25 years of service as a teacher at St. Leo the Great Catholic School, and had also taught in the Columbia Boro and Hempfield School Districts.

A member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, pinochle and giving piano lessons. Peg particularly enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach in Avalon, the family cabin in Orangeville PA, the EWAP Group and playing golf with the Four Seasons Women's Nine Hole Golf League.

In addition to her husband, are her sons, Steven R. Sr. husband of Peggy Jo Seibert, Mount Joy; Christopher J. Seibert, Middletown CT; twin sons, John A. Seibert, Shrewsbury; Joseph A. Seibert, Mount Joy; three grandchildren, Steven R. Jr. husband of Faith Seibert, Marana, AZ; Elizabeth Seibert, Stevens; Thomas Seibert, Middletown CT; five great-grandchildren, D'Angelo, Ruger, Raylan, Blake, Jordan; brother, Jeffrey B. Schuck married to William Graff, Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was preceded in death by her brother John B. Schuck, III.

David Santiago, 74, of Mount Joy passed away, surrounded by his loving family on March 12th, 2019. He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Calixto and Josefa Santiago. David worked for over thirty years for Armstrong World Industries. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He treasured spending time with his family and playing games like dominos. David was a faithful member of Iglesia Restauración en Cristo Church and loved his church family.

 David leaves behind his wife of almost eighteen years, Eulogia “Dolly” Santiago of Mount Joy; two daughters, Lisa, wife of Brian Blessing of York, Nichole, wife of Jason Gutshall of Boalsburg; four grandchildren, Olivia, Loren, John, Adrianne; seven siblings, Crispin, Virginia, Alice, Otolio, Alfonso, Carmen, Wilson; three step-children, Anna, Lisette, Victor; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Carl August Haug, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1st, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbia to the late Carl Albert Haug and Anna Catherine Fisher and was the husband of the late Anna A. Haug who passed away in 2012. Raised in Ironville, Carl attended a one room school house and Concordia Lutheran Church. He graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1942 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was sent to the South Pacific and was stationed in New Guinea and the Admiralty Islands. Carl retired from RCA in 1985 as a test set electrician. Most older Columbians remember him as "Haugie" as he operated a TV repair shop for many years while working for RCA. Carl loved being with family and always looked forward to family gatherings. He enjoyed food and eating out, especially at Texas Roadhouse. Carl loved sitting by the river and sitting on his bench at home, relaxing in the sun. He looked forward to watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights.

Carl is survived by his eight children, Carla, wife of the late Carl Lindnberger of Columbia, Judy, wife of Bill Clark of Columbia, James, husband of Paula Haug of Columbia, Donna Haug of Columbia, Cathy, wife of George Berdiner of Millersville, Sue Wieler, wife of Don Gauntner of Seven Valleys, Sharon, wife of Larry Herr of Washington Boro, Jody, wife of Robert Croft of Washington Boro; nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Haug, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Glenn Allen Weaver, 59, of Columbia passed away on February 24th, 2019. He was born in Columbia to the late George H. and Elsie McCauley Weaver and was a lifelong resident of this area. Glenn attended Columbia High School and worked for more than thirty years at Grinnell and Anvil International.

Glenn leaves behind his children, Amanda, wife of Brad Shoff of Columbia, Glenn, Jr. husband of Jenice Weaver of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine, wife of Michael Hess of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joan Weaver in 2013; four brothers, Paul McCauley, Pete, Gary, and Jake Weaver.

Anna Mae "Sis" Edmond, 89, transitioned from earth to join the "Heavenly Choir" on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Anna Mae was the daughter of the late Edward and Estella M. (Randolph) Duncan and the wife of the late Leroy "Roy" Edmond. She was a 1947 graduate of Columbia High School. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward "Bud" Duncan of Pottsville, Pa.; her sister Josephine "Peonie" Duncan; her aunt Josephine Johnson; and her nephews Douglas Irons and Arthur "Doochie" Duncan. Anna Mae will be missed by many as she was a Godly "Village" Mom and homemaker. She was a self-employed seamstress and tailor who could create, repair and improvise fashions and anything that needed to be stitched on her sewing machine. She enjoyed knitting and "Nan-Nan" loved to create beautiful fashions and afghans for her grandchildren, family and friends. She would also knit lap blankets and donate them to charities. Anna Mae liked to relax by working word puzzles, reading and playing games, especially Scrabble with family, where she ruled as the relentless champion. Until her recent illness, Anna Mae served the community as the elected Columbia Borough Fifth Ward Election Board Minority Inspector.

Anna Mae's greatest joy was being in service to the Lord at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church. Deaconess Anna served faithfully in the Prayer Ministry of the church. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Singers, the Naomi Alliance Women's Ministry ages 40+ and the Julia Sweeney Davis Missionary Society. Deaconess Anna also served as the Chair of the Finance Committee and Vice-Chair of the Board of Stewards. Her faithful service and exemplary Christian life was recognized by the Philadelphia Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in May 2007 at the 191st Session when she was consecrated a "Deaconess" of the church. Deaconess Anna was also honored by Mount Zion A.M.E. Church after renovation of the social hall was completed, it was dedicated the Anna M. Edmond Social Hall.

Deaconess Anna is survived by her son, Charles Duncan and daughter-in-law Sandra of Columbia; son Sam Edmond of Marietta; daughter Tammy Edmond of Columbia; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family, friends and well-wishers are invited to attend the public viewing at Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut Street, Columbia on Thursday, February 28th from 6-8 p.m. and the Celebration of Life Christian service at: Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, 222 S. Fifth Street, Columbia on Friday, March 1st at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., one hour before service. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. William J. Radziewicz, Sr., 70, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at York Hospital. Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late Stanley and Regina Dermont Radziewicz. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from McCrory Stores where he was employed as a construction supervisor.

Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 469, Wrightsville; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5752, Mount Joy; Red Rose Memorial Post 2435, VFW, Columbia; Catholic War Veterans Post 1306, Columbia; Foresters of America, Columbia; Wrightsville Social Club and the Seagraves Social Club.

He is survived by his children, Melissa, wife of Jonathan Kline; William J. Radziewicz, Jr.; MSgt Stephen, husband of Rebecca Radziewicz; eight grandchildren and five brothers and sisters.

A full military graveside service will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late J. Paul and Bertha Hess Witmer. She was also preceded in death by her step mother Sarah Witmer.

A Penn Manor graduate, Class of 1974, she also attended Millersville University. Jeanette was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia and was a devoted homemaker. She spent many years in the banking profession, finishing her career at the Union Community Bank, Columbia. Active in the Columbia community and always ready to serve the public, she served in various capacities with the Columbia Life Network; Columbia Education Foundation and Homes of Hope. She served as treasurer of the CBAA for many years as well as serving on the Columbia School Board. For the past 12 years, Jeanette served as the Board President of the Columbia Public Library.

In addition to her husband are her children, Stephanie, wife of Jonathan Gerber; Nicholas Sherk; Thomas Sherk; grandsons, Jackson and Cameron; brothers, Nelson Witmer (Sandy) and Benjamin Witmer (Darla), as well as her two faithful companions, Charlie Beagle and Zibbie. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Witmer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St., Columbia, PA 17512 on Saturday, February 23, 2019 promptly at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen P. Kelley, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeanette's memory may be made to the Columbia Public Library Building Fund, 24 S. Sixth St. Columbia PA 17512.

Eric Russell Wallace, 37, of Manheim passed away suddenly on February 14th, 2019. He was born at Duke University in Durham, NC to Kevin and Robin Wallace. Eric was graduate of Elizabethtown High School with the Class of 1999 and was a member of their inaugural hockey team. He was an avid ice and roller hockey player before his car accident in 2011 that left him somewhat physically disabled. He also loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Eric was a loving son, brother, and uncle who adored his family.

Eric leaves behind his parents, Kevin, Sr. husband of Robin Wallace of Manheim; his brother, Kevin Wallace, Jr., fiancé of Heather Allison of Elizabethtown; nephew, Kolby Wallace of Elizabethtown; grandparents, Norman and Margaret Tillman of Columbia; grandfather, Ray Wallace of Columbia; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hannah Wallace.

Services for Eric will be held promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21st, 2019 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St, Columbia, PA 17512. Visitation will follow the service. Julia A. "Jan" Simms, 64, of York, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the York Hospital. She was the lifetime companion of 48 years of George M. Roundtree who survives.

Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Jankins Simms. A graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1972, Jan was employed for the past 21 years as a machine operator at Flinchbaugh's Engineering, Inc., Hallam.

She will be remembered as the "Rock" of her family whom she loved dearly.

In addition to George, she is survived by two sons, Tyrone S. husband of Tara Simms; Michael A. Simms; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Charles Simms; Kevin Simms; Keith Simms; sisters, Pam Simms and Michelle wife of Darryl Grimms. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Craig and Stevie Simms.

Homegoing services will be held at the Columbia U.M. Church, 510 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Adrian Boxley, officiating. Burial will follow in Habecker Mennonite Cemetery. Family and friends may view at the church one hour prior to the service.
